Coffman Update

This morning we finally received a call from the Idaho National Lab. They gave us a new offer, which we accepted. So it's final. We will be moving to Idaho Falls. We will find out in 2 weeks if we qualify for the quick start program. If we do we will most likely be in Idaho falls before the end of Dec. If not, it could take up to an additional 6 months. We are hoping for the quick start. We are super excited!!!

Our Little Guy or Girl....

Wednesday we went in for our ultrasound. I love every chance I get to see the little baby growing inside of me moving around. It is such a miracle. All the measurements were right on schedule and looked normal which is always good to hear. Tobey now officially knows the sex of the baby. I told the ultrasound technician not to tell me what we were having but to write it on a piece of paper for Tobey to read later. (I did not want to see his reaction). So far I haven't asked any questions and he hasn't let on one way or the other. People think we are crazy for doing it this way, but we had to compromise: I am dead set against knowing and he was dying to find out. Hey, we may be strange but it works for us!
Anyway, here are some pictures of the little one. I think my pointier nose finally won out over the Orme one. Let me know what you think. :)

This picture was taken because the baby kept sticking out it's tongue. See if you can see it. :)

Thank You Oopah!

Kennedy was so excited to find a package from Oopah on our porch today. What could be better than a belated birthday present - It is way more exciting to get an extra present a few days after your birthday. She opened the package and said, "Oh my gosh! This is just what I wanted!" It made her day. She has been playing with the Barbie and puppies nonstop since opening them. Thanks Oopah, you made her day!

Enjoying The Sunny Days

On Sunday we decided that since it was so beautiful, sunny, & warm, we were going to head to the nature park. We know that with the blustery fall quickly approaching, our days for playing at the park are limited. We had a blast just being together as a family enjoying the nature paths, playground, and feeding the ducks. Last time we went to feed the ducks, it was a windy, overcast day. The ducks were absolutely starving and they started mobbing us. Poor Avery was attacked by two huge white geese who had her pinned against the van and were pecking her hand trying to get her bread. Kennedy also had her hand pecked by a starving duck. Needless to say, it took them a little while to warm up to the idea of feeding the ducks again. They stood by the side of the van watching Paige feed the ducks until they were sure they weren't going to be attacked again. Then they quickly joined in the feeding frenzy. Tobey and I were able to sit together and talk while the girls fed the ducks. Scout even had a blast smelling everything, chasing the ducks, swimming in the ponds, etc. It was a great day for our family. We will be heading over there again this Sunday if the weather is sunny.

Kennedy is Four!!!

Last Tuesday Kennedy turned four. Because her official birthday party was not scheduled until the following Saturday, we just had a quiet family celebration at home. She picked blueberry muffins for her breakfast & we put a candle in one and sang to her. Then later that night we went the park for a picnic. We had pizza & cupcakes. The girls played & Kennedy opened her presents. Right as we were about to light the candles on her cupcake, a huge wind storm started blasting us. Something fell from the tree right above us and hit Kennedy in the eye. She was a trouper though and let us sing Happy Birthday to her as she sat there with her eye all puffy & swollen. Awhile back we bought her a lot of My Little Ponies on Ebay, so she was in heaven as she opened them all. That night as I tucked her into bed she looked at me and said, "Boy, I sure am glad that I had a birthday." When I asked her why she said, "I sure was bored being three!" :)

The Cupcake Saga

My Cuties

On Saturday, she had her first official birthday party where she invited six of her friends to come over and celebrate with her. When I asked her what kind of party she wanted she told me "Ponies & Uni"coins". So we had a My Little Pony cake, played pin the tail on the My Little Pony, had a pinata, and played musical squares. She had a blast with her friends and is already planning next year's party. Yikes!

HE GOT THE JOB!!!

For those of you who didn't know Jessy interviewed for a job 2 weeks ago. We found out today that they want him. The company is Bechtel Bettis in Idaho Falls, ID. They have not finished putting the offer together yet so we don't know if we will be accepting the job, but we will know by the end of next week. If he does accept the job he will be working in the dry storage department of the company (I don't really know what that means). It has something to do w/nuclear propulsion systems for the Navy. We are really excited and hope that the offer is good. This is a great company and Jessy really wants to work for them. We are really excited about moving to Idaho Falls and being so much closer to family. We love you and will keep you updated.

First Day of School

Today was the big first day of school....For as long as I've had to prepare myself for this day (almost an extra year because of Paige's fall birthday)...I have to say I was not ready for the rush of emotions I felt today. As I saw Paige get on the school bus for the first time I felt happy, excited, nervous, and also surprisingly sad. As ready as I thought I was to see her going off to school, I realize that this is the end of a period of life for us. She is growing up and the fact that she is in elementary school is undeniable proof of that. Looking at her all dressed up and excited for her first day of school, I could not help but wonder where time has gone and how my first little baby no longer a baby at all. I managed to keep myself together at the bus stop, only getting teary eyed and choked up, but when I got home, I bawled. I was on pins and needles all morning until her bus pulled up and I saw her smiling face come running across the lawn, excited to tell me all about her first day. She, of course, loved school and can't wait for another day. I, on the other hand, wish I could freeze time and keep her home and small for just a little longer. Time is going by too quickly.

Here are pictures of Paige at her Kindergarten open house the day before school officially started. She got to meet her teacher, visit her classroom, and even explore the school bus. She was embarrassed I made her pose for a picture in front of the school. (The mom mortification has already begun) :)

Here she is all dressed up in her first day of school outfit, anxious to get to the bus stop.

Walking to the Bus Stop and Pictures with Her friends there (Yes, I was a little bit obsessive with the pictures, but it was a BIG day)

Video at the Bus Stop
Avery & I were waiting for Paige outside the house when her bus pulled up. Avery had been asking all day, "Where's Paige?" She really missed her. As soon as Paige got into our lawn, Avery ran up and gave her a huge hug. It was really cute.

Kennedy also had a big day today. She started preschool at Mrs. Doggett's house. Something she has been waiting two years for. She was super excited to go. She had a great time.

Time passes by too quickly. We had an exciting and emotional day today. I am just so thankful to be these amazing little girls' mom. They are my life. There have been days I wished they would just hurry and grow up - but today I realized once again, that these years are going by too quickly - right now I wish I could freeze time. I am constantly trying to remind myself to enjoy these times with my little girls because they will not be little forever and I will miss the days of dress up, tea parties, and innocence. My new motherhood motto is "Enjoy today, for it will pass to quickly"

Egin Lake

Living in a small town has its perks and its downfalls. The downfalls mainly include trying to find something fun and different to do. This weekend we decided to head out to the St. Anthony sand dunes to a small lake there. We had heard about it from some friends and decided we would give it a try. We are so glad we did. Technically, it is not really a lake. It is more like a shallow wading pool as big across as a lake. It is the PERFECT place to take little kids on a hot day. The water is not deeper than 2 feet deep the entire way across. The girls loved it. They had a blast wading in the water and splashing each other. Avery could not get enough of it. She played and played, and even drank some of the water until we yelled at her to stop! NASTY! Paige and Kennedy also had a blast playing in the sand. They made sand castles, rivers, lakes, etc. We didn't stay very long because we ended up going so late in the day, but the girls kept saying, "When are we coming here again?" We will definitely be going back. I think we have found our new summer hang out spot.

P.S. Check out our blog for a bunch of other posts :) I included a link to our blog on the right hand side so all you have to do is click on it and it will take you straight to our blog. :) Easy Peasy!

Paige's Preschool Graduation

Okay....so this is about a month late. We went on vacation the day that Paige graduated from preschool and I have never gotten around to blogging about it, so here you go. Paige just finished two years at Building Blocks Preschool with her amazing teacher Mrs. Doggett. I really think that preschool helped Paige open up socially. She is still a little timid in new situations, but not nearly as shy as she used to be. She knows all her letters both capital and lowercase, the sounds they make, and she can read small words. She is definitely ready for kindergarten this fall. To celebrate the graduation of all these little preschoolers a professional clown, "Beep Beep", came to the park and entertained all of us. She even picked Paige to be one of her assistants for the show. After her show she made balloon animals for all the kids. The girls were so excited to see the clown! It was a lot of fun. What a great way to end two amazing years of preschool!

For Melyssa...:)

Six unimportant facts about me...

1. I love love love to balance stuff. If there are random weird objects on the table I will grab them and try to balance them.
2. I am afraid of speed. I don't like to go fast when I am in control of the mechanism. I don't speed in the car, I don't want to ski, and I go so slow on the jet ski that I fall off.
3. I could watch TV for the rest of my entire life and be perfectly happy. I don't know what it is, but it is something that I love.
4. I don't want to vote for president this year because I don't believe in the candidates.
5. My favorite thing to buy is shoes.....
6. I hate feet. they are gross and nasty.

Our Trip to Sea World

A few weeks ago we were lucky to be able to go down to California to stay with Tobey's parents. Heidi & Jonathan were there with their kids and Jenny, Tyson, & Cambryn were there too. We all went to Sea World for two days. I think I was more excited to go than the girls were because I had never been to Sea World before. Even though the weather was rainy, we all still had a good time. It was fun to be able to look and and even touch some dolphins, rays, starfish, etc.

A League of Her Own

Yesterday was Paige's first T-ball game of the season. We were a little shocked because her coach called us the day before the game and announced that their first practice would be just 30 minutes before the game. (None of these kids have played in a T-ball league before). Tobey practiced with Paige at home hitting on the tee and stopping grounders the night before. She did a really good job hitting - it took her awhile to get used to hitting off a tee because whenever we play ball at home, she hits pitches. You could tell that Paige was super excited. She couldn't stop smiling whenever we mentioned her first big game. She said, "Mom and dad, when I hit the ball, will you yell really loud, 'Yeah Page! Good hit!?'" - Of course we did! :)
When we got to the field early in the morning (Her games are at 9:00 a.m.) we were in for our first big shock - the teams are co-ed! Where I grew up girls played with girls and boys played with boys. Paige was a little shy, but she got right in there and followed the coaches directions. It was hilarious to watch these kids who had never stepped foot on a baseball field before - they were all diving for the ball and fighting over it whenever anyone hit. Then when someone did get the ball, they had no idea what to do with it so some of them would run and put the ball back on the tee, drop their mitt, grab the bat and proceed to try and hit it. There was one little boy who would slide into every base, every time. All the parents in the bleachers were giggling because it was so funny and so cute. It is also fun because with first year T-ball players the rules are very relaxed. Every single player on the team gets to hit the ball, there are no official "outs" so everyone gets an equal opportunity to play.
Even Avery and Kennedy had fun at the game. Avery is so social that she immediately made friends with some little kids that were there and she spent most of the game playing "tag" with a little boy. She would stick her hands on her face and say, "nah, nah, nah" and then run away from him giggling. It was funny. Paige loved the game and is super excited for her next one, which is tomorrow. I will have to post more from some future games.

Jessy 2nd best catch :)

These pics are from last weekend when we went fishing in Valdez. Jessy caught the biggest fish of the day (out of everyone in Valdez) weighing in at 111 lbs. We also got some pretty big shrimp and 2 starfish. Anyway, it was fun and we though you might enjoy some pictures.

Finally!

Jessy graduated last Sunday. He graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was in Tau Beta Pi (a prestigious engineering honor society) as well as The Golden Key national honor society. He will now be job hunting. He plans to get his Masters after a few years of work. I am very proud of him and very excited that he is done.

Avery's Wink

I thought I would post a picture of Avery's wink. She has mastered it. Most kids I know can't properly wink until they are three, but somehow she got the skill. Here is just a little taste of what she looks like. It's pretty funny. :)

Park Day

When Thresa was here last week we went out to Beaver Dick park for an afternoon of fun. Too bad it was snowy, windy, and freezing. Good thing we did not let the nasty weather ruin our fun. We threw rocks in the river, climbed trees, had a snack picnic in the van, played on the playground, and had a fun tire jumping contest. We all had a lot of fun!!!

Our New Family Picture

Here is our long awaited family picture. I have been wanting a professional portrait of our family for a long time. I am lucky enough to have a friend (Meggan Hayes) who is an excellent photographer and she took the picture for us and with the magic of photo-shop editing she was able to get a smiling face on all of the girls at the same time! We are really excited to finally have a nice picture of our family up on our wall. I took a picture of the picture so the angle is a little off and there is a glare, but you get the jist. :)

This weekend Kyle, Nener, Emily and I spent the weekend 3D target shooting out in the great outdoors above Orofino, You shoot at targets of animals made of foam. There are deer, elk, wolves, big horn sheep. etc.... It sounds pretty easy but it is pretty hard. You have to figure out how far away they are and then try to hit a spot that varies from the size of a baseball to the size about the size of a watermelon. and then each of those has different areas in them for different points. The bear above was about 30 yards away, if I remember right. You would have to ask your uncle Kyle for sure. I managed to hit this one in the throat and left shoulder. Kyle hit it in the heart. But I am getting a little better. Anyway this is what I am doing besides working. Kyle is here this week and I am enjoying his company a lot. I miss you all a lot. Love DAD

Color Festival!!!!!!!!!!

Out in the little town where I work, there is this Indian religious temple. Every spring, they have a festival to celebrate the incoming of the season. There is music and dancing and a bonfire. At sunset, everyone has these bags of ground up colored chalk and they throw it around to ring in the spring! Then everyone just dances around and hangs out. It was so much fun! I think I will go every year forever. Thought you guys would like to see the pics. :) Love y'all
