Baby Update

Hello everyone! I feel like it's been forever since I've blogged. I had every intention of posting some more pictures this weekend but our internet was down, so that is why it has taken me so long. :) We are slowly but surely adjusting to life with four little girls!!! It has been so much fun to be home with Hadley, watching the girls interact with her and feeling the sweet spirit that enters your home when you bring home a new baby. We are amazed at the outpouring of love and service people are giving our family. We are surrounded with neighbors and friends who are constantly asking to take the girls so I can rest, bring in meals, etc. Their kindness is truly overwhelming. Thanks so much everyone!
The girls love their new sister. They all have a cold, so I have been having them keep their distance (which is killing them). When they hold her they have to wear masks and I keep slathering their hands with hand sanitizer. So far she has avoided the dreaded cough (keep your fingers crossed). They are constantly crowding around me watching every move, asking all sorts of questions about diapers changing, the belly button, bath time, nursing, etc. I kind of feel like we are the main attraction in a circus side show. :) Paige has been a big helper with the baby. She is the first to ask me what she can to do help. She is great about talking to Hadley and finding things to "entertain" her. The other day she even said, "It would be really fun if I could take Hadley for show and tell." Kennedy immediately piped in and said, "Paige, Hadley would not like being in your back pack. She would cry and want out!" We all had a good laugh over that. Kennedy also wants to be around the baby nonstop. She calls her sister "Baby Hadley" and is always asking to hold her. Avery is still adjusting to having Hadley in the house. She loves her most of the time and if I am not holding Hadley she will say, "Hey, where is that baby mom?" She is constantly coming up and kissing the top of Hadley's head and talking to her in a sweet little voice. She has had a few melt downs though when I am nursing and can't help her with something she needs or can't hold her. Avery will throw herself on the floor and cry. It is hard for me because Avery has never thrown a lot of fits so I know that this is a huge adjustment for her. Hadley is a content, alert, happy little baby. She eats like a champ, sleeps great, and has long periods of awake time where she looks at her surroundings with huge eyes. She has extremely long legs, feet, and toes. She looks completely different than any of our other girls have as newborns. We are anxious to see who she looks like as she grows up. We feel so blessed to have another healthy baby girl in our home to love. I hope you enjoy the pictures, I am sure many more will follow.

More Pics of Hadley Grace (with Big Sis)

Hadley Grace, 7lbs 7oz., 19.5 inches

Well SHE is finally here! Arrived at 4:11pm today. Mom and baby both did great. Lys ended up pushing only about 15 minutes. She's our third child weighing in at 7lbs 7 ounces which we find humorous/interesting. These girls of ours are just like little carbon copies of each other. We have this "making girls" business down to a science. Daddy could not be prouder to have 4, FOUR, QUAUTRO,四(that's 4 in Chinese), vier(dutch) beautiful little girls. Here are a few pictures to take the edge off. We will of course post more when she's not so swollen and she and mommy come home. Paige and Kennedy got to see her tonight (seperate visits, the camera with pics of KK and Hadley are still at the hospital) and they absoultley LOVE their new baby sister. Both couldn't get enough "holding" time with her tonight and cannot wait to "help" mommy with her. It's going to be an all out cat fight for holding time when they come home we can already tell. Avery is teething again which gives her a pretty little running nose and still has a hacking cough, so she opt to stay home and will have to wait and see Hadley when she comes home probably. We're all excited though that she is finally here and can't wait for the both of them to come home. Hadley has been amazingly quiet and SOOO alert since she was born. Cried the first minute and a half of life, while getting checked, and then for over two hours straight was wide awake and just kept staring at everything with her big eyes and even smiling!! VERY good, calm,CONTENT baby for the first few hours of her life thus far (let's cross our fingers that continues;o). Well I'm beat and am anxious to go sleep in our new King bed all by myself tonight!!! whoo-ohhh. Love you all, thank you for the prayers, we'll post again soon.

Update

I went into the doctor today because it's my due date. I was only dilated to about a three, but the baby's head was down and my cervix is thinning. The doctor scraped my membranes and scheduled an induction for tomorrow at 11:00 - so hopefully I will go into labor today, but if not we will for sure have a baby by late tomorrow. :) We will keep you all posted.
