Paige's Preschool Graduation

Okay....so this is about a month late. We went on vacation the day that Paige graduated from preschool and I have never gotten around to blogging about it, so here you go. Paige just finished two years at Building Blocks Preschool with her amazing teacher Mrs. Doggett. I really think that preschool helped Paige open up socially. She is still a little timid in new situations, but not nearly as shy as she used to be. She knows all her letters both capital and lowercase, the sounds they make, and she can read small words. She is definitely ready for kindergarten this fall. To celebrate the graduation of all these little preschoolers a professional clown, "Beep Beep", came to the park and entertained all of us. She even picked Paige to be one of her assistants for the show. After her show she made balloon animals for all the kids. The girls were so excited to see the clown! It was a lot of fun. What a great way to end two amazing years of preschool!

For Melyssa...:)

Six unimportant facts about me...

1. I love love love to balance stuff. If there are random weird objects on the table I will grab them and try to balance them.
2. I am afraid of speed. I don't like to go fast when I am in control of the mechanism. I don't speed in the car, I don't want to ski, and I go so slow on the jet ski that I fall off.
3. I could watch TV for the rest of my entire life and be perfectly happy. I don't know what it is, but it is something that I love.
4. I don't want to vote for president this year because I don't believe in the candidates.
5. My favorite thing to buy is shoes.....
6. I hate feet. they are gross and nasty.

Our Trip to Sea World

A few weeks ago we were lucky to be able to go down to California to stay with Tobey's parents. Heidi & Jonathan were there with their kids and Jenny, Tyson, & Cambryn were there too. We all went to Sea World for two days. I think I was more excited to go than the girls were because I had never been to Sea World before. Even though the weather was rainy, we all still had a good time. It was fun to be able to look and and even touch some dolphins, rays, starfish, etc.

A League of Her Own

Yesterday was Paige's first T-ball game of the season. We were a little shocked because her coach called us the day before the game and announced that their first practice would be just 30 minutes before the game. (None of these kids have played in a T-ball league before). Tobey practiced with Paige at home hitting on the tee and stopping grounders the night before. She did a really good job hitting - it took her awhile to get used to hitting off a tee because whenever we play ball at home, she hits pitches. You could tell that Paige was super excited. She couldn't stop smiling whenever we mentioned her first big game. She said, "Mom and dad, when I hit the ball, will you yell really loud, 'Yeah Page! Good hit!?'" - Of course we did! :)
When we got to the field early in the morning (Her games are at 9:00 a.m.) we were in for our first big shock - the teams are co-ed! Where I grew up girls played with girls and boys played with boys. Paige was a little shy, but she got right in there and followed the coaches directions. It was hilarious to watch these kids who had never stepped foot on a baseball field before - they were all diving for the ball and fighting over it whenever anyone hit. Then when someone did get the ball, they had no idea what to do with it so some of them would run and put the ball back on the tee, drop their mitt, grab the bat and proceed to try and hit it. There was one little boy who would slide into every base, every time. All the parents in the bleachers were giggling because it was so funny and so cute. It is also fun because with first year T-ball players the rules are very relaxed. Every single player on the team gets to hit the ball, there are no official "outs" so everyone gets an equal opportunity to play.
Even Avery and Kennedy had fun at the game. Avery is so social that she immediately made friends with some little kids that were there and she spent most of the game playing "tag" with a little boy. She would stick her hands on her face and say, "nah, nah, nah" and then run away from him giggling. It was funny. Paige loved the game and is super excited for her next one, which is tomorrow. I will have to post more from some future games.

Jessy 2nd best catch :)

These pics are from last weekend when we went fishing in Valdez. Jessy caught the biggest fish of the day (out of everyone in Valdez) weighing in at 111 lbs. We also got some pretty big shrimp and 2 starfish. Anyway, it was fun and we though you might enjoy some pictures.
